CYRENE at the CEN-CENELEC workshop
The CEN-CENELEC Sector Forum on Security organised a webinar to discuss the role of standards in the implementation of the Action Plan published by the European Commission on synergies between civil, defense and space industries, and to identify supporting activities by the standardisation domain and other related stakeholders.
The workshop titled “Standardisation synergies between civil security, defense and space industries” was held virtually on February 28 at 10:00 CET.
During its 1 hour duration, the attendees were introduced to the Action Plan and speakers, representing the European Commission (DG DEFIS) clarified the Commission’s ideas of implementing the Plan while afterwards representatives from the Security & Defence industry were able to outline their view towards the Action Plan. Finally, experts from the Standardisation domain discussed the necessary activities by the European Standardization Organisations (ESOs) to support the Plan.
As standardization is a key activity for CYRENE, the CYRENE consortium is always looking forward to identifying opportunities for contributions. To that end, our partners from Hyperborea attended the workshop and were more than happy to share with the rest of the consortium the interesting outcomes of the webinar.
