One year CYRENE

Calendar

The CYRENE project was kicked off in October 2020 with the goal to devise the methodologies, techniques and tools needed for the efficient evaluation and handling of security threats and vulnerabilities of all digital assets and infrastructures involved in the provision of critical Supply Chain services. our project objectives are to:

  1. Create tailored and risk-based security and privacy certification schemes for trusted supply chains of ICT systems.
  2. Develop a novel dynamic cybersecurity and privacy conformity process that will support different types of conformity assessments.
  3. Develop a collaborative, multi-level evidence-driven Supply Chain Risk and Privacy Assessment Approach
  4. Specify model and simulation services to dynamically forecast, detect and prevent supply chain cyber security and privacy risks and define clear mitigation strategies
  5. Validate the CYRENE solution through its application to real life SC services.
  6. Develop a set of best practices for cybersecurity and privacy conformity assessment for Supply Chain infrastructures (Best Practices and Standards Enhancements)
  7. Strengthen EU’ cybersecurity capacity and tackle future cyber security challenges.

On our roadmap to achieve this we have created and submitted multiple deliverables so far, few of which are public. Reports of the draft versions of these public deliverables for open discussion can be found in our zenodo community here and include:

  • Report 1: Supply Chain analysis and requirements
  • Report 2: Conformity/Certification Assessment scheme set-up
  • Report 3: Conformity Evaluation Process & Multi-Level Evidence-Driven Supply Chain Risk Assessment

We have also organized and co-organized multiple public events presenting this results, namely:

  • First CYRENE workshop with Advisory Boards. You can find the materials shared here.
  • Valencia Info Day. You can find the materials shared here.
  • IEEE International Mediterranean Conference on Communications and Networking
  • CyberHOT summer school
  • Mutiple participations in conferences and events (e.g: IEEE CSR Workshop on Maritime Cyber Security, Black Sea Maritime Cyber Security Conference, IEEE International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing, Smart Ports 4.0 summit, 2021 International Conference on the EU Cybersecurity Act, Digital Sustainability Forum,  Supply Chain Cyber Security Summit (SCCS), Critical Infrastructure and Resilience Regulation fair, Infocom Security conference, 5th NMIOTC Conference on Cybersecurity in Maritime Domain, AIAI conference and more.

Last but not least, our academic and technical partners have started already to produce research results, showcasing 2 publications presented in prestigious conferences:

We aim to continue and intensify our work during the upcoming months and get closer to our goal and objectives.
