Face the challenge!
For 24 hours from the 14th until the 15th of October, you have the opportunity to dive in the world of supply chains cyber security and contribute to the solution of real life challenges faced by organizations all over the world.
The CYRENE project organizes its 1st Hackathon and is looking forward to hearing your ideas on the development of new algorithms and visualization tools that could be useful to the CYRENE components and architecture. Open source software will be suggested for the scope and a repository will be provided for allowing file exchange between project partners and participants.

Does it sound interesting?
During the last decades, Dark Web content has risen in necessity in an increasingly connected world, where international anonymous networks provide access to dark web forums, data marketplaces and illicit multimedia material through the TOR or I2P networks. At the same time, Dark Web witnesses establishing new markets, in which administrators, vendors, and consumers aim to illegal data acquisition and consumption. On the other hand, this rapid growth makes it quite difficult for law and security officers to detect and investigate all these activities with manual analyses. The challenges that we pursue in this hackathon concern:
- the role that the Dark Web plays for Supply Chain Services (SCS), heavily interconnected SC systems, devices and business operations;
- the criticality of cyber criminal activities and operations in the Dark Web exploiting textual data mining, graph analytics and threat taxonomies; and
- the gaps, maturity and efficiency of technical tools and methods to curb illegal activities on the Dark Web through raising awareness via producing analytics for visual reporting and alerting mechanisms.
